25/02/2009Telstar presents the market's most compact unloading system, facilitating ease of integration into Freeze-Drying equipment.

Continuing in its commitment to offer innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, Telstar has patented a compact mechanism for the automatic unloading of vials from lyophilizers.

Telstar will be present at INTERPHEX and will be introducing some new technological advances in containment, sterilization and lyophilization for life sciences applications. The Telstar Life Science division is dedicated to the development, manufacture and commercialization of high-tech equipment-based solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, laboratories and hospitals.

More specifically, Telstar will be exhibiting, for the first time, a COMPACT UNLOADING SYSTEM aimed at minimizing installation space and which can be easily integrated to the back of the chamber, underneath the condenser of the lyophilizer. This mechanism causes no disruption to equipment layout and forms part of an automatic vial loading & unloading system from the LyoGistics product range. The vials coming from the filling line are loaded, row by row and at contant level, directly onto the shelves of the lyophilizer. At the end of the freeze-drying cycle, the new mechanism pushes the vials out of the chamber, where they are organized into a single line that will take them on to over-sealing.

Telstar will also be showing at Interphex its new range of FLEXIBLE-WALL CONTAINMENT ISOLATORS which have been developed for special applications in which safe, controlled working conditions are required but with a low investment cost. They can provide the same degree of containment as rigid isolators and are ideal for clinical and small scale production. They can also be used in single-use applications where it is more convenient to dispose of the isolator between batches than to validate and perform exhaustive decontamination and cleaning procedures.

For the first time in the United States, Telstar will be introducing its STERIMEGA range of AUTOCLAVES. These units utilize steam sterilization and are designed to process a wide range of solids, porous materials or liquids for pharmaceutical production applications. The units have high-tech features and installation options which can address a broad range of product technical characteristics.

Finally, Telstar will show at Interphex two models from its flagship range of lyophilization equipment for research and development applications. On display will be the LYOBETA 35, which is specially adapted to the needs of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. LyoBeta 35 makes it possible to develop cycles (recipes) that can be readily exported to production equipment, or to carry out improvements to the freeze-drying cycle. The product on display is finished in stainless steel and can be installed in a sterile environment.  It also features the LyoSuite Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, which can include the DPE (Dynamic Parameters Estimator) that allows freeze-drying process parameters, such as the product temperature and the vapor mass flow, to be determined using non-invasive methods.  Also on display will be Telstar's smallest lyophilizer, the bench-top LyoQuest, developed to be very compact but with automatic controls and a huge range of accessories for every development activity.
