Differential Flow System

Telstar can deliver this Differential flow laminar flow system in several sizes. The size of the laminar flow system depends on the requirements of the end-user.

The Differential flow Laminar flow system can be equipped with HEPA filter housings or with HEPA plate filters. In case of HEPA filter houses the Laminar flow system can be delivered with Illumination inside the canopy.

Operational Experience has shown, also confirmed by CFD's, that in some cases turbulences arise in the patient area, if the size of the Laminar flow system is bigger then 2.800 x 2.800 mm. In the 2 Zone Laminar flow system the canopy is divided into two different zones. The patient area is protected due to a higher air velocity in this D1 zone (appr. 0,4 m/s). The velocity in the instrument area D2 zone is approximately half of the velocity of the D1 patient zone. With this system there is always a velocity difference generated on purpose between the D1 and D2 zone.

This system fulfills the requirements of the new German VDI 2167 (August 2007).
