Particle Counter Calibration Laboratory

The Particle Counter Calibration Laboratory is accredited by ENAC with accreditation num. 80LC/149 in the 0.1 µm to 5 µm range. To carry out this type of calibration, the Laboratory has a calibration procedure, (TP001), an internal Laboratory document covered by the ENAC accreditation, specifying all the steps to be followed to calibrate Particle Counters in Air or CPA. Carrying out this type of calibration begins with standard size particle suspensions certified by an accredited laboratory. It consists of determining the minimum voltage threshold of a counter to calibrate aerosol suspensions containing monodispersed particles of a known size. By this method, the ratio between the particles size and the signal detector output voltage of the equipment to be calibrated is determined. When this ratio is determined, the procedure to determine the particle size is applied starting with the voltage - particle size ratio.

The calibration process in Telstar's Laboratory satisfies the most comprehensive working procedures, which guarantee that a client's equipment is treated with great care.

  • Equipment reception: the equipment to be calibrated is received in Telstar's Central Warehouse. On arrival, the warehouse personnel assign it a unique ID to avoid any confusion. Warehouse personnel notify the Calibration Laboratory of the arrival of the equipment to be calibrated and take it to a special area.
  • Calibration: laboratory personnel pick up the equipment and take it to the laboratory where it will be kept with a stable temperature and position for a minimum of 8 hours before calibration. Calibration is carried out in Telstar's Calibration Laboratory under controlled environmental conditions. Duly identified and controlled reference standards are used during calibration. Telstar Industrial, S.L.'s calibration procedures are internal calibration documents that specify the steps to follow to perform calibration and the subsequent issuing of results. A calibration certificate is issued for each piece of calibrated equipment to the specifications required by ENAC.
  • Dispatch: Telstar's Central Warehouse dispatches the calibrated equipment. Special care is taken when packaging since this equipment is extremely susceptible to damage.
